Claudio Chiara is the Italian artist who, more than any other, has drawn his inspiration from the greatest jazz musician of all time, Charlie Parker. The inspired language of be-bop and the sound of the great maestro can be picked up in Claudio Chiara’s re-interpretations of the most famous pieces of the genrep.

First alto saxophonist in the Torino Jazz Orchestra conducted by Gianni Basso, Claudio Chiara has played with great jazz musicians including Lee Konitz, Ernie Wilkins, Bob Mover, Benny Bailey, Alvin Queen, William Evans, Jean-Louis Rassinfosse, Stephan Belmondo. Still as leader of the sax section he has worked with Tullio De Piscopo’s band and the big band "Paese Degli Specchi" in which he played at the side of artists like George Russel and Kenny Wheeler. As a soloist he took part in the 1998 concert in the Teatro Regio of Turin by the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Piedmont to celebrate the centenary of Gershwin’s birth. He has been on tour with the band of Paolo Conte since 1995 in which he has played in the most important international theatres.
He leads this quintet of top Piedmontese musicians which includes his brother Fulvio, himself a great trumpet player, in the great Italian tradition which looks upon Turin as its historical capital of jazz.
